Some of you may know that I am not well. I have autoimmune diseases that involve my immune system being too strong and working to rid my body of infections that don't exist. Rheumatoid Disease and Peripheral Neuropathy are a few of the enemies I face daily.
The hardest thing about my condition is that it's invisible. Sure there is joint and organ destruction, inflammation, chronic fatigue, brain fog, swelling and severe debilitating pain going on inside my body all the time. You can't see it but I feel it 24/7.
Wondering how I function or hold up under such a burden of suffering? I don't. I have moments of frustration, anger, and tears. Since having to give up my career as a Licensed Optician, I grieve for the person I used to be quite often. My sweet husband has been through it all with me. I don't know how I would make it sometimes without him.
Knowing that we all face problems in life, I wanted to share mine to explain why the writing is so real, spiritual, and uplifting for me. With all the sorrow, pain, mistakes, bad decisions, spiritual breakthrough's, joy, salvation, and other life-changing events comes a need to share our stories with those who are facing the same challenges. Some preach. Some teach. Some witness,or give time, money, or talent to reach lost souls or encourage Christians.
I love it when God's Holy Spirit moves on me to pen the words of a song. With each one comes a fresh anointing and strength that only God can give. You see, it's not about what we suffer here on earth. It's not about the heartache or grief. It's about how we recover from each heart stopping crisis through the mercy and grace of our loving God. It's about how he injects his peace into our lives because he knows us and wants us to be blessed by the joy of knowing him.
From these thoughts came this song. I hope you enjoy the message in this music.
His Hill That Conquered Mine
It seems sometimes my mountain overwhelms me
I can't quite get the hold I need to climb
Just when I think I'll fall I feel His hand just in time
Then I'm reminded of His hill that conquered mine
chorus
Before He took Mt Calvary Jesus prayed for you and me
To win our souls was His only prize
Jesus overcame now I can do the same
When I'm reminded of His hill that conquered mine
Only Christ the Lord could reach that summit
As He carried all the sin of all mankind
Down through the ages a greater victory you'll not find
As when His blood flowed from His hill that conquered mine
